This paper explores the strategies of two eighteenth-century female poets to write and publish their poetry in an era when literature was dominated by male authors. In eighteenth century, language were considered male-dominated areas. For this reason, women had face many obstacles express themselves be accepted as authors/poets. However, due critical shift from patronage printing a profit-making market, women’s writing displayed itself almost non-existence. Still, authors/poets century such Anne Finch Lady Mary Montagu needed fabricate various write, publish, own authorship works. Thanks those strategies, they able produce poems very which often associated with authors oppressed them. Hence, can defined “thieves language.” context, analyzes Finch’s “The Introduction” Montagu’s “Verses Addressed Imitator First Satire Second Book Horace” context Neoclassical investigating how these generate different insert voice into masculine literary tradition Augustan age. deals her concerns on publishing that marginalizes scorns while “Verses” strategically severely attacks Alexander Pope, leading figure literature, back same style Pope.
